Fans of George Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series have been waiting on the release for this book for almost 6 years now and its finally here. Published on the 12th of July in UK and US I have been unable to pick up a copy over here in Eastern Europe but that will all change tomorrow when the book stores here in Slovenia open.
I highly recommend this series to anyone at all, avid readers or not. It is some of the best literature I have ever read and easily the best Fantasy series ever written, it makes LOTR look small time.
Some of you who haven't heard of the books may have heard of the TV series "Game of Thrones" who's first season ended only recently. The first season was based on the 1st book and received rave reviews, so I'm pretty sure they will continue through all of the books. Although the TV show is amazing and quite true to the story line I feel that the books are much better and would advise reading them first and then watching the show.
