Apart from it being a pretty shit time over all there were a couple of cool things about Exit. The first thing to go well was how easy it was to pick up a ticket. I managed to find a guys selling his spare on the street, and as he worked for the Serbian Tel Co. that sponsored the festival he was given it for free and was only asking 50 Euro, which was far cheaper than the 120 Euro the other guys had to pay for theirs online.
On the first night I got to watch Magnetic Man which was pretty awesome after a shaky start due to technical difficulties. The 2nd night was my favourite, as we arrived we ran into all of the other Irish kids and I watched the first half of M.I.A. with them. I really enjoyed the show but according to everyone else it deteriorated rather quickly and in spots she seemed off her face, so I must have left at the perfect time to see Parkway Drive.
Parkway Drive were fucking amazing, probably the best live show I have ever seen in my life. They played on the Explosive stage, which was situated in one of the dried moats of the fortress. The space for the crowed was about 20 meters across, creating one of the most intense thrash pits I've ever seen and when it was going around really quickly the dust that was being kicked up turned into a mini-tornado highlighted by the spotlights. They played an hour and a half set with almost all of the songs coming off their 1st two albums and all of my favorites were played. This set list never happens in Australia because they are obviously trying to promote their new album. Amazing. I would have payed the 50 Euro just to see that show.
On my last night before skipping out a day early I bounced around a few of the stages as I wasn't too bothered with anyone. I saw Jamiroquai, Anti-Nowhere League, Fedde Le Grand, Groove Armada and Danny Byrd. All were good for their major songs but none I was super impressed with for a whole set though I did have fun rocking out to all the random mixes that Danny Byrd was throwing out there.
